REPAIR & RESTORATION

Jewelry is more than metal and stones—it’s a memory, a story, a connection. At Tsu’s, we approach each repair and restoration with the same dedication to craftsmanship and precision as we do our original creations. Whether it’s a treasured heirloom or a daily favorite, your piece will be handled with the utmost care.

Ring Resizing

  • Resizing depends on the ring’s design, stone layout, and how much the size needs to change.

  • Rings with full eternity designs, certain tension settings, or delicate structures may be challenging to resize—but many "unresizable" rings can still be adjusted with advanced techniques.

  • Special attention is given to rings with sensitive stones like opals or emeralds, which can crack under heat or stress during resizing.

  • Resizing up or down more than two sizes may require additional structural adjustments or a partial remake.

Stone Replacement & Re-setting

  • Missing stones can be replaced to match original quality and appearance.

  • Loose stones are re-secured with precise setting adjustments.

  • Matching rare or vintage cuts may require additional sourcing efforts.

  • For delicate stones (e.g., opal, turquoise), gentle methods are used to avoid damage during resetting.

Polishing & Cleaning

  • Restores original luster to both metal and gemstones, removing fine scratches and tarnish.

  • Ultrasonic or steam cleaning is available but not recommended for delicate or heat-sensitive stones.

  • White gold pieces can be re-plated with rhodium, restoring their bright, reflective finish and concealing any yellow tint of underlying gold. This process not only revives appearance but also adds a layer of protection.

  • Polishing is done with precision to avoid altering engravings, textures, or design elements—especially important for pieces with intricate detail.

  • For brushed or matte finishes, specialized techniques are used to maintain the intended texture while refreshing the surface.

Prong & Setting Repair

  • Damaged or worn prongs are rebuilt to ensure stone security.

  • Settings are checked for alignment and integrity to prevent future loss of stones.

  • For vintage or delicate designs, repairs are made with respect for original craftsmanship.

Engraving Restoration

  • Worn or faded engravings can be re-cut with precision.

  • Restoration is done by hand or with fine tools to maintain the style and character of the original design.

  • For custom fonts or motifs, digital scanning can recreate or enhance the engraving.

Shakudō & Patina Restoration

  • Japanese metals like shakudō and shibuichi can be re-patinated to restore their deep black or subtle gray finish.

  • The niage process is carefully applied to revive color without compromising the metal’s integrity.

Heirloom Restoration

  • Full evaluation of vintage or damaged pieces, with a plan balancing structural integrity and preservation of original character.

  • Includes possible replacement of missing elements, reinforcement of weak areas, and surface restoration.

  • Restoration aims to retain as much original material and design as possible, while making the piece safe and wearable again.
